Who writes this list?
This list is written by Rudat AG, itself an estate agent based in Baar, the municipality next to the city of Zug. We say so first, because you should know it before you read on.
Three rules apply. We state only what the offices publish on their own websites or what is recorded in the Swiss commercial register. We do not rate anyone; the order is alphabetical. Which agents from the canton serve Zug without an office in the city?

What is particular about selling in the city of Zug?
In the Canton of Zug, the sale contract is as a rule notarised by the notary of the municipality in which the property is located (§ 4 para. 2 Notarisation Act, BGS 223.1). In the city of Zug this is the Notariat der Stadt Zug in the Stadthaus at Gubelstrasse 22, which also prepares the draft contract. Lawyers authorised to notarise may notarise land transactions only in special cases, for instance as part of a marital agreement (§ 7 para. 2).

How do you choose the right agent in Zug?
Ask two or three offices about their valuation method, about documented sales in your district, about what the fee includes and about who will look after you personally. None of the 20 offices publishes its own fee on its website; quotes are made per property, as a commission in per cent of the sale price or as a fixed amount. The agent’s commission is earned only once the sale contract is concluded as a result of the agent’s referral or mediation (Art. 413 para. 1 Swiss Code of Obligations).
